AN event is being held to promote services available to help people with mobility needs access Wrexham town centre.
The event is being held in Queen’s Square on Friday, July 24, between 10am and 3pm.
Wrexham County Borough Council’s Shopmobility staff will be joining forces with volunteers from Chariotts Community Transport and staff from the British Red Cross based at Wrexham Maelor Hospital to demonstrate some of the facilities on offer.
Shopmobility scooters – which can be loaned from the council’s bases at the bus station and Eagles Meadow – will be available to try.
Chariotts will be demonstrating one of its vehicles and explaining the benefits of the transport service it provides, while the Red Cross will supply details of equipment available to people with a disability or illness.
Cllr Rodney Skelland said: “This is an excellent opportunity for the public to learn about and try some of the great facilities available which can help people access all the town has to offer.”
