EXISTING Wrexham season ticket holders can save 20% on the cost of watching the Dragons next season if they renew before the end of May.

The Blue Square Premier club has frozen prices for a further 12 months, as well as introducing a discount scheme in a bid to try and encourage supporters to spend their money early.

Racecourse director Paul Retout claimed the pricing structure was a realistic balancing act, given the current economic climate and the loss to the club of last season’s parachute money from the Football League.

“We are looking to drive the sale of season tickets up this year, hence the price freeze and the generous discounts available during May and June,” he said.

“Existing season ticket holders can buy their season tickets 20% cheaper than they were last season if they renew in May, while there is a 15% saving in June and 5% in July.

“Anyone buying a season ticket for the first time before August saves 15%, 10% or 5% respectively, which represents a significant saving on the full price.”

Retout also thanked the Wrexham Supporters Trust for the £14,000 sponsorship deal it announced this week, describing it as generous and much appreciated, particularly as local charities would benefit on a regular basis.

Meanwhile, Dragons midfielder Andy Fleming has been put on stand-by for England C’s International Trophy Challenge final clash with Belgium at the Kassam Stadium, Oxford on Tuesday May 19.
