WREXHAM are set to sign Poland youth international attacker Adrian Cieslewicz from Manchester City.

The 18-year-old, who has been on the books of the Premier League giants for two and a half years, has agreed a one-year deal with Dragons boss Dean Saunders.

Saunders said: “Adrian comes to us well recommended and we have watched him on several occasions.

“He has very good pace and can operate either as a frontman or out wide, which will give us a few options.”

Although Polish by birth, Cieslewicz grew up in the Faroe Islands and so follows in the footsteps of Gunnar Nielsen as another Faroese player to make the journey from City to the Racecourse.

Goalkeeper Nielsen’s loan spell with Wrexham at the back end of last season was cut short by a broken thumb. The 22-year-old is now fully fit, however, and is rumoured to be on Saunders’ shopping list.

One player on his way out of the Dragons is defender Nat Brown after he agreed to terminate the final 12 months of his contract.

Wrexham have added two more friendlies to their pre-season schedule. They will head to Bangor City on July 13 and Carlton Town on July 23.
