A 79-YEAR-OLD resident at a Wrexham care home has had her dream of seeing a live wrestling match come true.
Margaret Dunton, of Ashleigh Court care home in Wrexham, has always been an avid fan of wrestling but had never made it to a match.
But her key worker, Christine Vernon, made arrangements for Margaret to attend a wrestling match at Llay Royal British Legion Club organised by Basix Wrestling.
Christine accompanied Margaret to the match and arranged for her to go backstage to meet some of the wrestlers, who presented her with a bouquet of flowers along with signed pictures and photographs.
Margaret said: “I had a ball of a time at the match, it really was a dream come true, and I am very grateful to Christine for going out of her way to organise the outing and taking me along.”
Home manager Sarah Morris said: “We endeavour to help all of our residents to fulfil their dreams and ambitions so when the opportunity cropped up to take Margaret to see the wrestling we jumped at it.
“We also took one of our residents who is a football fanatic to see Wrexham play.”
