CAR park attendants in Wrexham are getting on their bikes.

The Borough Council has decided that two wheels are better than four when it comes to tackling traffic congestion.

The Council’s six civil enforcement officers are getting in the saddle to complete some of their patrols in a bid to navigate the streets more quickly and efficiently.

Coun David Bithell, lead member for environment and transport at Wrexham County Borough Council, said: “This scheme allows the civil enforcement officers to cover a wider area more easily, without adding to the volume of motor traffic on our streets and helping us to reduce the Council’s carbon footprint – a key priority for us this year.”

Existing foot patrols by the enforcement officers will continue.
