WREXHAM manager Brian Little expects his side to start finding the back of the net when they visit Unibond League side Colwyn Bay this weekend.

Speaking after last night’s 0-0 draw with Crewe Alexandra at the Racecourse, the Dragons boss said his players had competed well and matched the League One outfit as they had in another 0-0 stalemate with Blackpool last weekend.

It was a third consecutive clean sheet against league opposition for Little’s men .

Last night’s game also saw summer signing Shaun Whalley make his first appearance for the club.

Little said: “These games have been good tests for us because the opposition move the ball around well and that means we have to work very hard to try and get it back.

“Our attitude was spot-on again and we are quite happy with the way things are going.

“We had a couple of half chances tonight and we also hit the post and as time moves on we are getting closer to where we want to be for the start of the season.”

Looking ahead to the visit to Llanelian Road, where his side will be expected to win comfortably, Little added: “It’s going to be a different game to those we’ve had to date and we’ll certainly be looking to score a goal or two.

“We may have four or five key players missing through injury, so that will dictate what we do to some extent, but we are already very much looking forward to the game.”
