TWO youngsters from Wrexham were given the VIP treatment as they reopened a High Street store favourite.

Sarah Evans, 13, and Elliott Howatson, five, won the title of Wrexham Wonder Kids in a competition run by Woolworths.

Sarah, a pupil of Ysgol Clywedog, was nominated by her teacher John Metcalfe.

Sarah is a young carer, and her teacher thought she was well-deserving of the title.

Elliott was nominated by his mum for helping with her household chores despite his young age, and for the big effort he puts in with his schoolwork.

The duo launched the new-look store last Wednesday by cutting a ribbon, and were treated to a celebratory breakfast. They also scooped £150 worth of Woolworths vouchers and £50 worth of vouchers for their classmates.

The newly revamped store has extended ranges across a number of departments.

Woolworths helps to support the community through Kids First, an independent registered charity which allows employees to get involved with their communities in ways which benefit children. To find out more, telephone the store on 01978 266085.
