POLICE are appealing for a motorist to come forward after a woman died following a three-car pile-up on a Cheshire road on Sunday evening.
The 73-year-old from Lymm near Warrington died of her injuries in Leighton Hospital, Crewe, follow-ing the crash on the A500 Barthomley link road between Crewe and Stoke-on-Trent.
Her Ford Ka was in collision with a Toyota Carina and a Mitsibushi Galant.
But police believe the driver of another car, possibly a Saab estate that was travelling from Stoke-on Trent to Crewe, might be a vital witness.
The driver of the Toyota, an 18-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent fled the scene but was found following a search by police dog handlers. He was released on police bail.
Two other males in the Toyota, both 17 and from Stoke, were taken to Leighton Hospital, where one is still being treated for back injuries.
