AN ELLESMERE Port primary school has been rated outstanding by Ofsted.

Pupils of Wolverham Primary School were credited for their excellent behaviour, politeness and good manners, as well as for their exemplary academic performances in English and maths.

The school’s quality of teaching was also rated outstanding, with school leaders, including the governing body, praised for working with great determination to provide the best for the pupils.

Inspectors observed 10 lessons, looked at school work, held meetings with pupils, staff and governors, and analysed a parents online questionnaire to establish the result.

Paul Jenkins, the school’s chairman of governors, said everyone was ‘delighted’ with the news.

“The report confirms what we have all known for some time, that Wolverham is an outstanding school,” he said.

“The staff, parents, governors and, most importantly, the children, deserve all the credit and praise they are receiving.

“The consistency in performance over the last four years has been exceptional – well done to all those involved.”
