A SWITCHED-ON business is hoping its turnover will top £1m after a surge in demand for its services.

Cheshire Digital Services, based on Woodford Park Industrial Estatem, Winsford, has secured a series of new contracts ahead of the upcoming digital switchover.

The firm, which installs and maintains digital satellite systems, expects its turnover to increase from £750k to around £1m, in the next 12 months.

CDS has also secured a £50k working capital package from NatWest to help support increased demand for its services ahead of the switch to digital TV in November.

“We would expect demand to increase as the switch over date draws closer,” said CDS managing director Steve Bushell.

“The increased demand obviously impacts on stock and working capital and therefore it is essential to have the necessary funding in place to meet the needs of our customers.”

Mr Bushell established the company in 2000 and now employs 27 people. CDS’s commercial clients include supermarket chains, councils and housing associations.

Around 3m homes in the Granada region will be affected by the switch.
