TOWN councillors will meet tonight to discuss a proposal for a new housing development at Ways Green, Winsford.
Rhyl-based firm Anwyl Construction Company wants to submit a planning application for a housing development with up to 80 properties on seven acres of vacant land at the back of the Conservative Club, and is required to undertake a pre-application consultation exercise.
The company has written to Winsford Town Council to outline the basic details of the proposed application, to set out a brief “justification” as to why permission should be granted and to ask for the town council’s views.
Anwyl is currently developing a housing estate for 23 dwellings at River View, Ways Green, which adjoins the seven-acre site they want to build on.
A company spokesman said: “It is feasible, suitable and deliverable and could contribute significantly and quickly to the housing land shortage - including a significant number of affordable houses.
“Anwyl would ask the town council to look favourably on this proposal and respond accordingly.”
