THE widow of Peter Shephard says she misses her husband “every minute of every day.”
Eileen Shephard said his loss was “impossible to deal with”.
The couple would have been celebrating their golden wedding anniversary in August.
Her husband, she said, was fit and healthy, and he had an active life with various hobbies and interests since he moved to Wrexham four years ago.
His death had been “a total loss” but she had the support of a very close and loving family.
“He is missed by all of us every minute of every day,” she said in a victim impact statement read to the court.
After the hearing, she said she hoped the jail sentence imposed would serve as a deterrent to all drivers not to drive in a dangerous manner.
