WHITBY High School celebrated World Book Day 2009 by having an eco-friendly balloon launch.
The event was enjoyed by Year 7 pupils whose aim is to share their favourite book with the person who found the balloon they had released.
Attached to each balloon were the details of the pupils’ favourite book along with the school’s contact details.
A prize will be awarded to the pupil who gets a reply from the furthest location from school.
Laura Carter, head of English, said: “We wanted to mark World Book Day with a special event promoting the 2009 campaign for Reading for Life.”
