THE season of giving was alive and well when school pupils gave hampers to the elderly.

Children at Whitby Heath Primary School dropped in to Age UK in Pooltown Road to deliver some of the parcels.

Mum Natalie Evans’s big-hearted son Luke had the idea of giving to the elderly.

“My son came up with the idea. Every year I try and teach them to give something back.

“I recommended doing something closer to home and my son came up with the idea to do Christmas hampers for the elderly.”

Age UK’s last group activity before Christmas provided the perfect opportunity for the children to hand over their hampers.

“We asked the school to get involved and it went really well.”
