GENEROUS Halton residents have donated two wheelchairs and a bathchair to the Let’s Go Stroke Club.

The donations came just two weeks after thieves stole seven wheelchairs and a bathchair from the club’s Picow Farm Road container.

Three of the wheelchairs were found abandoned in nearby Russell Road and returned to the club.

The club lends the equipment free of charge to people who have suffered a stroke and their families.

A Widnes man donated the bathchair and a man and woman from Runcorn each donated a wheelchair.

The Royal British Legion in Halton Village, Runcorn, has also offered a room in which to store the club’s equipment.

Cllr Bob Bryant, who runs the club, said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to the people who have given us the wheelchairs and bathchair, and also to the British Legion who offered us a room to keep the chairs in.

“It’s a great response and I’d like to thank them on behalf of the club.”
