TO CELEBRATE the new-build developments in Ellesmere Port and Chester, West Cheshire College staged a ‘Campus to Campus’ 10-mile sponsored walk.

More than 50 staff and students, plus their friends and families, raised money for the Student Volunteer Fund – a fund set up by the college to support students wishing to undertake significant volunteering projects and personal challenges in the UK and across the world.

The 10-mile walk started at the Chester campus in Eaton Road, Handbridge, and finished at the Ellesmere Port campus in Regent Street, where a much-deserved barbecue was waiting for the tired walkers.

West Cheshire College principal Sara Mogel said: “We wanted to celebrate the new campuses with a fun day out that was easily accessible to everyone, as well as help raise money for our Student Volunteer Fund.”

The new Chester campus opened its doors to students in March 2011 and the Ellesmere Port campus, with its iconic rotunda building, opens to students in September.
