CARL TREMARCO has urged Wrexham to be ruthless in their pursuit of promotion back into the Football League.

Following their 5-0 win over Stevenage at the Racecourse on Saturday, the Dragons face the next step in their bid to climb back out of the Blue Square Premier when they travel to York City tomorrow night.

And defender Tremarco, one of Wrexham’s star men in Saturday’s victory, said Brian Little’s side must make sure they fire the goals to kill teams off throughout the rest of the season.

He said: “When they had a man sent off we were able to put our foot down a bit and kill them off, which is what we need to do whenever the opportunity presents itself in the future.”

Stevenage started the season as bookies’ favourites for promotion, but Tremarco said he was surprised how easily they eventually rolled over.

“I thought they were a pretty good side, but on that performance I’m surprised they are seen as favourites for promotion,” he said.

“Our lads took their chances on Saturday, but you can never take such things for granted, but we also believe there is more to come from us.”
