WINSFORD United will have centre back Danny Webster and Les Miranda back for Saturday’s Vodkat League Cup semi-final first leg tie at Bootle.

But Webster’s defensive partner Dave Barnes will not have recovered from his knee injury in time. Having used midfielders in the middle of his back four, manager Joe Gibiliru is just happy to have one specialist, Webster, reporting for duty.

“Our injuries have been terrible. At one stage we have had to field a new back line,” he says.

“It’s a big game for us and it is good to have something to fight for at this stage of the season.”

Miranda made a brief return as substitute in the win at Atherton LR after five weeks out with a broken toe. He sat out last night’s trip to Newcastle Town to make sure of his fitness.

The Barton Stadium hosted a thriller on Sunday. Thanks to a Gary Bryning hat-trick and another goal from Stuart Tulloch Rudheath beat St Joseph’s 4-3 in the Mid Cheshire FA District Sunday Cup final.

This Sunday, the two clash again, this time at Seddon Street, Middlewich, in the Mid Cheshire Sunday League Cup final.

It is Rudheath v St Joseph’s for the title too.
