CHESHIRE West residents are being encouraged to stay ‘gas safe’ by being aware of a recent change in Britain’s gas safety body.

Steve Towers, property services manager for Weaver Vale Housing Trust, said: “The Gas Safe Register is replacing the CORGI register as the national gas safety body and residents need to ensure that any gas engineers carrying out work on their home are registered with the new organisation.”

All Gas Safe registered engineers carry a Gas Safe Register ID card with their own unique licence number, detailing the work they are qualified to do, such as installation or servicing of pipe work, gas cookers, central heating, boilers or gas fires.
