YOUNG people will be given the chance to explore career opportunities at West Cheshire College.

People looking to find their ideal job or a career change are invited to taster sessions throughout National Careers Week (March 4-8) at the Ellesmere Port and Chester Campuses.

The college promises to have taster sessions catering for the next Jamie Oliver or a budding entrepreneur to rival Richard Branson as well as people who want to work in the travel industry; be a beautician, mechanic or work in the fashion industry.

Helen Nellist, acting principal at West Cheshire College, said: “We wanted to mark National Careers Week by giving a real flavour of the wide range of courses that we deliver and the potential career opportunities available.

“There is no age limit and they are open to everyone – whether you are still in school, looking for a job or interested in a career change. Individuals can book in themselves or teachers may wish to book groups of their pupils.”

All of the sessions are free and delivered by experienced tutors. The sessions will be held in the college’s learning areas real-working environments designed to give students the best experience and the right skills for employment.

The full range of careers to experience are listed on the college’s website and include hospitality and catering, health and social care, construction and engineering.

Anybody looking to attend the taster sessions will need to pre-book their places.
