POLICE in Northwich have issued a warning to car owners following a spate of thefts at Kingsmead and Leftwich.
Over the last two months there has been an increase in the number of cars being stolen and broken into, and police want residents to be extra vigilant and take greater care over what they leave in the vehicles - and to ensure that their vehicles are left secure.
Thefts have occurred at Wrenbury Drive, Stonecroft, Houghton Close, Tarvin Close, Wheelock Close, Sandbach Drive, Monarch Drive and Muirfield Close.
PCSO Martyn Parsons said: “When leaving your car, even if only for a few minutes, always make sure it is locked.
“Remove all valuables from view and preferably completely remove them from the vehicle. While thieves will target cars with items on show they will think nothing of checking glove compartments and boots.
“I would also like people to be aware that there are thieves operating in the area and to be on the lookout for anyone acting suspiciously.”
