THE first acts to perform at this year’s Chester Rocks event have been announced.
Popular boy band The Wanted and newcomers Union J have been unveiled as the first two big names who will be on song at the annual weekend concert, which is marking its third year.
For The Wanted, the Chester Racecourse stage will be a familiar setting after members played there when Chester Rocks made its debut in 2011.
They will sing such hits as their number one singles All Time Low and Glad You Came.
X Factor boy band Union J will be showcasing their new material at the gig, which will take place on June 15 and 16.
Other acts are to be announced this Friday. Previous names to take to the stage have included Pixie Lott, Iggy Pop, The Saturdays, Sugababes and Labrinth.
Tickets for the weekend will also be on sale from this Friday and are £35 per day.
Priority tickets for fans of The Wanted will be available to members of The Wanted’s WantedWorld website.
