NORTH West Ambulance Service’s community first responder teams are looking for new volunteers to join them in Audlem and Alsager.

The Community First Responders work with NWAS and attend emergency calls in and around their local community administering life saving support to patients who are waiting for an ambulance.

Volunteers must be aged between 18 and 70, have a UK driving licence and the use of a vehicle.

They will need to complete a 12 week training course, delivered in weekly evening sessions.

Recruitment and selection follows NWAS procedures and health checks, criminal records bureau checks and driving licence checks are carried out.

Following interview and acceptance a full training programme is delivered by NWAS.

Community Responder Manager Robert Hussey said: “We want to expand our Cheshire team to provide these areas with more volunteers so if there are any people in the local area who are interested in becoming a Community First Responder, or require more information, please contact me on 0151 296 1931 or 07768 032737.”
