ELLESMERE Port firefighters visited Little Sutton Primary School to provide fire safety training to Year 5 youngsters.

During the awareness event crews spoke to the children about the dangers of fire and gave practical demonstrations on how to keep safe.

Pupils devised fire plans for their home, learned how to maintain smoke detectors and were shown how to survive a smoke-filled room while trying out their survival techniques in the smoke tent.

At the end of the event they received a certificate from the fire service for their efforts and understanding of the training sessions.
