Connah's Quay Nomads 4 Caersws 3

NOMADS kept up their fabulous form by edging a match that had it all.

The victory was their fourth in a row and moved them up to fourth place.

Boss Nev Powell said: “We’ve had some cracking games with Caersws over the years but that was one of the best. The lads showed great character to keep on hitting back.

"A few Chester supporters came along after seeing their game on Friday night and reckoned this was the best five quid’s worth they'd had in years.

"It was a tremendous match that seemed to have everything, and full marks to both sides for producing such a cracker."

The visitors went in front when Mark Griffiths tapped in after a defensive mix-up.

Nomads drew level moments before the break when on fire top-scorer Adam Dickinson rifled in.

After the break they took the lead when Craig Hutchinson headed in Tommy Mutton’s cross.

Powell’s men were denied a third when the officials wrongly ruled out Marc Limbert’s solo effort. The linesman flagged Chris McGinn for offside even though he was not interfering with play.

Caersws drew level through Neil Mitchell, but Nomads went back in front when Craig Garside nodded in Limbert’s pull-back.

Quay’s Chris Williams then headed into his own net, but a thrilling match was decided 11 minutes from time when Dickinson was upended in the box. Limbert converted the spot-kick.
