HOLT Villagers stepped back 60 years for a We'll Meet Again weekend.

The event was opened by Mayor of Wrexham David Rogers and celebrated VE Day, the 60th anniversary of the ending of World War II.

On Saturday a parade started from the village green with many villagers dressed for a wartime theme.

In Kenyon Hall there were displays and films by Holt Local History Society, and memorabilia of the Home Front from the war years.

Outside, a stage accommodated dancing and other entertainments and stalls.

On Sunday a short service commemorating those who died in the war was conducted by the vicar and the Presbyterian Minister at the village cross. A floral tribute was laid by ex-service personnel.

The event ended with tea for the village's senior citizens and a singalong of war-time favourites.

We sent our photographer along to snap some of the action.
