NORTH Wales Country Music Festival comes to Venue Cymru, Llandudno, next weekend.

The 14th North Wales Country Music Festival takes place from September 5-7.

“We are so lucky to have the support of Conwy County Borough Council and the venue management, which, in turn, enables us to book the very best country acts year after year,” said Andy Boggie, who, with his wife Iona, is responsible for booking the acts, compèring and running the shows.

This year’s bill is topped by guitarist Albert Lee with his band Hogan’s Heroes.

Also performing is Texas singer-songwriter Kimmie Rhodes, Smooth Radio’s Nick Barraclough and Scotland’s Brian Hughes and the Lone Sharks, The Fabulous Picasso Brothers and The Haleys.

Completing the line-up is North Wales’s Alistair James and Iona and Andy themselves, who put together a band of British musicians, The Festival Band, to back them.

As well as the theatre shows in the evening there is an all- day line dancing session on the Saturday afternoon presided by Maggie’s Triple M dance academy and featuring sets by B J Locklin, as well as easy listening in the Ocean Lounge.

You can book individual concert tickets or a weekend pass for £35. Call the box office on 01492 872000 or visit www.venuecymru.co.uk.
