GENEROUS staff at Vauxhall toured the facilities that will benefit from their £200 donation at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

Members of the Vauxhall Employees Charity Fund committee visited the hospital on February 12 to present Alder Hey Children’s Charity with a £200 cheque, which was donated during the hospital’s Christmas appeal.

Alder Hey Children’s Charity supports the hospital’s pioneering work and the committee was able to experience first-hand the benefits of charitable donations.

Committee members were shown around the oncology ward, which was funded by £10m worth of donations and completed in 2005.

Donations have helped to fund art projects, games rooms and many other facilities on the ward.

The £200 donated by the Vauxhall Employees Charity Fund will buy a games console for the whole ward.

Operations manager Anne Hodgson said: “There are so many different needs within the hospital but, with donations such as yours, it can really help to uplift the children.”
