Thoughts have turned to love at Astbury Lodge care home in Great Sutton where residents have come together to grow their very own ‘Valentine’s memory tree’ in the home’s dining room.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, residents at the CLS-run home have each composed heart-felt messages for loved ones past-and-present, and hung them from a golden-painted branch taken from the garden.

The activity prompted an afternoon of story telling as residents reminisced over high school sweethearts and the highest number of Valentine’s cards they had ever received.

With love in the air, everyone at Astbury Lodge is now looking forward to enjoying a Valentine’s Day party where a local entertainer will supply a medley of love songs and the tuck-shop will be converted into a mini-bar for the evening.
