A ROUNDABOUT has been reopened to minimise disruption during a scheme to deliver essential water to Ellesmere Port.

Engineers working on behalf of United Utilities have experienced difficulties connecting a new water main into the existing network at the roundabout on Pooltown Road.

United Utilities project manager Dan Smith said: “During this scheme we have done everything possible to keep disruption to a minimum, which is why we are reopening the road until these difficulties can be resolved.

“We are looking into the issue at the moment and we are confident that we will we be returning before the end of November to complete the work, which should take seven to 10 days.

“The road will remain open while work is being carried out, but temporary traffic lights will be put in place.”

The scheme started in July last year and has been implemented in co-ordination with contractor Balfour Beatty and Cheshire West and Chester Council.
