THE Secret Chester Tour once again sets out to unlock the city’s hidden treasures.

The two-hour guided walk aims to give visitors a glimpse inside Bonewaldesthorne’s Tower and the Water Tower on the City Walls, as well as the Agricola Tower at Chester Castle.

Those taking part in the tour will get exclusive access to the St Mary de Castro’s Chapel in the Agricola Tower thanks to special permission from the Cheshire Military Museum, which tells the story of the Cheshire Regiment with exciting displays and reconstructions.

The tours take place on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 2pm departing from the Town Hall Tourist Information Centre, May-October.

Access to the towers is via narrow stairwells and steep steps and may be unsuitable for some.

The Secret Chester tour is operated by the City Council in partnership with the Guild of Chester Tour Guides.

Tickets are £5 adults, £4 concessions, £13 family (two adults, two children). Guided tours for groups are available at any time bookable in advance.
