TWO casualties were freed from a car and placed on spine boards following a collision on the Welsh Road at Shotwick Dip last night.
At 8.22pm fire crews were called to the scene near the Two Mills traffic lights to find a saloon car and a hatchback had collided, trapping a back seat and front seat passenger in the saloon car.
Watch manager Chris Roddaway at Chester fire station said: “Paramedics stabilised two casualties.
“Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service removed the roof of one saloon car and assisted and aided ambulance and paramedic staff in removing two trapped casualties on spine boards.”
The police and Highways Agency managed the traffic to ensure crews remained safe during the incident.
An appliance from Chester and one from Ellesmere Port fire station attended to find the driver of the saloon car and the hatchback out of the vehicles upon arrival.
The casualties were taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital by two ambulances.
