TWO men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of supplying class A drugs after police raided a house at Chapel Court, Northwich.

Officers discovered what was thought to be heroin and crack cocaine during the search on Tuesday, September 30, and are believe the drugs were destined to hit the streets of Northwich.

Insp Peter Minghella, head of Northwich Neighbourhood Policing Unit said: “The result of the warrant is pleasing as it means we have taken more illegal drugs off the streets of Northwich.

“There is no doubt that drug addiction is a major contributing factor to the level of crime experienced in any given area. Drug users will often turn to crimes such as burglary, shoplifting and other theft, to provide the funds to feed their habits.

“And sadly it seems there are still people who are willing to supply these drugs and complete an extremely vicious circle.”

Following the raid 18-year-old Jonathan Stott, of Chapel Court and Stephen O’Brien, 22, of Granville Road, were charged with being concerned with the supply of cocaine and heroin, possessing cocaine with the intent to supply and possessing heroin with the intent to supply.

Both appeared at Vale Royal Youth Court last Wednesday, October 1. Stott was remanded in custody to reappear today, Wednesday, and O’Brien was released on bail and will return to court on November 12.

A 19-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and was released on bail until October 31 pending further enquiries.
