A TV crew from The One Show captured the moment pupils of The Oaks Primary School were covered in snow.

The school’s 20-strong choir performed at the Children's Centre on Stanney estate for their Christmas fun day on Tuesday, December 13.

The children performed festive songs and watched a children's entertainer while everyone munched on mince pies.

The Stanlaw Abbey Children's Centre kindly presented the children with selection boxes for their performance.

They were recorded for The One Show to be televised on January 14, 2011.

Deputy headteacher Nicola Hughes said: “The One Show were doing a piece on how much people spend on Christmas, so they came to the fun day.

“It was a really nice day, there was a really good atmosphere. They were even covered in snow from the snow machine!

“It was a lovely afternoon.”
