LLANDUDNO Town, who are developing as title contenders but bemoan the fact they have dropped five points at home, are determined to overcome Mynydd Isa tonight.

Joint manager James Cornish said: “We have a bigger and stronger squad than last season, believe we have been in this league long enough and are equipped for the step up to the Welsh Premier. But we are concerned at those points lost at Maesdu Park, particularly in the 1-1 draw with Buckley Town last midweek, when we should have won.”

Two forwards will rejoin the squad, Joe Morgan after a ban and Grant Montgomery after being unavailable for the 1-0 win at Gap Queen’s Park on Saturday.

New-look Buckley Town bid to maintain their recent upturn in fortunes in the league when they host Lex XI tonight, writes John Bridgwater.

Manager Simon Sedgwick is back at his former haunt at Globe Way, having gained experience with Rhyl last season, and he admits it has been a tricky start.

With only one player remaining from the Buckley side of last season, it has been a case of rebuilding.

But after a barren start, a draw with Llandudno and last Saturday’s 3-2 win over Mynydd Isa shows the club are heading in the right direction.

“It’s been a difficult start with basically a new team with an average age of 19,” said Sedgwick. “But we’re not a million miles away and we showed a lot of character to defeat Mynydd Isa last week.”

Andy Neill, Dave Lovatt and Phil Gray are all added to last Saturday’s squad.

Queens Park bid to bounce back from their first defeat of the season when they entertain local rivals Gresford Athletic tonight, and Holyhead Hotspur host neighbours Bodedern.
