THREE women have appeared in court accused with attacking another woman in her front garden.

Jill Knight, 47, of Ellesmere Port, Samantha Masters, 22 and Louise Reid-Masters, 41, both of Stamford Street, Ellesmere Port, elected for their case be heard in front of a jury at Crown Court when they appeared at Chester and Ellesmere Port Magistrates Court on Friday.

All three are accused of assaulting Shirley Jones, of Mallory Road, Ellesmere Port, on January 1.

Rob Youds, prosecuting, described how Miss Jones and her daughter were at home when they heard shouting outside the property.

Miss Jones went out into the garden to investigate, when one of the women ran at her and struck a blow to her head.

Mr Youds said: “She then became aware of two more people joining in.

“Her daughter says she could hear her mother screaming for her brother’s help.”

It’s alleged the three then kicked Miss Jones as she lay on the floor, while Louise Reid-Masters punched her ‘three or four times’.

Magistrates were shown photographs of facial cuts and bruises and injuries to the upper body suffered by Miss Jones.

Magistrates adjourned the case until July 14 for committal proceedings.

All three women were granted bail with conditions not to contact or approach Miss Jones or her daughter and not to enter Mallory Road, Ellesmere Port.
