A CHARITY single in memory of shot Liverpool schoolboy Rhys Jones is on sale in this area.

Songwriters Tony Taylor, Mike Bradley, David Hyland and Jules Burgess-Kennedy, who are all from the city, have written and recorded Angel Child to raise money for the Rhys Jones Memorial Cup Trust.

The 11-year-old was shot and killed on his way home from football practice last year.

All proceeds will go to help build a community centre in Rhys’ name and provide funding for various sporting events and projects that will benefit children from across the UK.

Retailers including Tesco and Woolworths have agreed to stock the song at their larger stores in Ellesmere Port, Wirral and Chester, even though they no longer sell singles.

It is also available to download for 79p from all major digital download sites like ITunes and Napster.
