WREXHAM'S bitter-sweet season came to an end with relegation to League Two.
But the squad came together at Wrexham's Guildhall on Saturday after being awarded a civic reception thanks to their stunning victory in the LDV Vans Trophy final.
Denis Smith's side has battled bravely against relegation, with the handicap of a 10-point deduction for going into administration.
Around 200 fans turned out to congratulate their team at the civic reception in honour of their victory in the LDV Vans Trophy.
'We were very pleased the council did that for us and it's not the first time I've been there with this club and it hopefully won't be the last,' said Smith, giving the strongest hint yet that he intends to stay on as manager.
'We are proud of Wrexham FC,' said mayor Cllr David Rogers. 'Denis Smith has brought silverware back to the town by motivating the players he managed despite all the problems and we salute him and his squad for their achievement.'
