RESIDENTS of Ellesmere Port and Neston can now access council information on the internet for the first time.

The borough council has launched www.ellesmereportneston.gov.uk to meet the needs of residents, businesses and tourists.

The site includes an events guide which is updated daily, information about councillors, details of community organisations, plus council agendas and minutes and information about services provided by the council. Visitors to the site are encouraged to e-mail the council with any comments and suggestions to help the website develop.

Stephen Ewbank, council chief executive, said: "When we consulted Ellesmere Port and Neston People's Panel about what they wanted to see on our website, their top three answers were: information about council services, details of events taking place and access to committee and council agendas and minutes."
