THE West Midlands Ambulance team has received national recognition for the services it provides.

It has been awarded a commendation at the annual Health Business Awards in the category ‘Ambulance Service of the Year’.

The awards aim to concentrate on the many examples of innovation, dedication and teamwork that are evident in the NHS.

West Midlands Ambulance Service chief executive Anthony Marsh said: “We’re absolutely delighted... to be recognised as amongst the best in the country.

“The judges were looking for Trusts who have improved their response times but more importantly, their ability to provide treatment at the scene of an incident.

“No-one could doubt the huge efforts that our staff have put into meeting these goals. Ultimately, it is the patients who have benefited from the progress which is fantastic news.”
