The Tilston Playing Field Association got the recipe right for their barbecue on July 2.

The weather could have been kinder but thanks to generous sponsorship by Lindsey and Trevor of the Village Store there was some cover and thanks to Duncan from Broxton Gates there was somewhere to sit.

Dave Roberts brought along a giant of The Queen to preside over the occasion and the children were royally entertained by Party 2 Remember.

The association and friends worked tirelessly and would like to thank anyone who barbecued, worked the bar or provided BBQs.

Jude Edwin-Scott treated guests to live music while the DJ had a break and toilet facilities were provided by Charles Blake.

Antoinette Sandbach MP was on hand to support the event and was kind enough to agree to open the new tractor play area, installed for younger children.

The tractor was bought partly with a grant from CWAC, match funded by money raised by the TPFA. The profit of £920 from the barbecue will also go towards this fund. Other events in the village this summer include an activities/sports week from August 1-5, 10.30-12.30pm sponsored by Jones Homes and free for children aged four to 11
