MORE than a thousand people have joined a Facebook group raising their concerns over the attempted abductions in Ellesmere Port.
Members of the social networking website have set up a section to report any suspicious incidents or sightings, and even discussed carrying out patrols in the town for a couple of hours a night.
In total, more than 1,150 people have joined the group in the space of a week. Police are urging members to pass on any fresh information to them.
DI Gwyn Dodd said: “We are aware that some of these incidents have become topics of discussion and debate within social networking sites.
“We would urge any members of the public who feel they hold any information that would assist this enquiry to come forward and speak to detectives.
“Any members of the local community who wish to discuss this matter further should contact their local neighbourhood policing team at Ellesmere Port on 0845 458 0000.
“Officers will be available to answer any questions, offer advice and address any concerns you may have.”
