NIGHTINGALE House Hospice has opened a second-hand furniture store in Market Street, Rhos.

It follows the opening of the charity’s distribution centre in Wrexham last month, which is high in demand.

Not only does the large warehouse facility act as a sorting depot for the charity’s traditional shops in Rhos, Wrexham, Cefn Mawr and Buckley, but it will also supply the new furniture shop in Rhos with goods.

“We opened the distribution centre as a means of expanding our retail business and in the first month sales have already exceeded our estimations,” said Caroline Siddall, income generation manager.

“We are delighted at the response we have had from our customers, not only from those who have donated goods, but also those who have bought the furniture.

“The money raised will enable us to continue to improve our patient services at the hospice.”

On Tuesday the hospice held an open day at the distribution centre in Rhosnesni Lane for anyone involved in the property market such as letting agents and estate agents and anyone interested in buying good quality second-hand furniture.

Anyone wanting to donate good quality second-hand furniture, electrical goods and clothing should contact Nightingale House Hospice’s distribution centre on 01978 262589 or visit www.nightingalehouse.co.uk.
