POLICE in Northwich are appealing for information after a pump-action paintball gun was stolen from a shop in Weaverham.

Thieves grabbed the gun a display after smashing a window at the Firepower Paintball shop on High Street in the early hours of Sunday.

The gun is not the type of weapon to cause serious injury but police are concerned that it could be mistaken for a real firearm.

Detective Sergeant Henry Platten said: “Although the gun poses no threat to life people could mistake it for a firearm and that is why we are appealing to the community to help us trace it quickly.’

Anyone with information is asked to contact either Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or Cheshire Police on 0845 458 000.
