TENNIS fever is already gripping pupils at Bronington School.

Fifty classmates aged between four and seven visited the North Wales Tennis Centre in Wrexham last week to hone their racquet skills.

As well as whetting the pupils' appetite for the tennis season to come, the session gave school bosses the chance to see how their starlets are developing.

Headteacher Terry Walker said: 'There's a softball tennis competition held in July which we've reached the finals of in the past.

'Monday gave the pupils an idea of what to expect and to identify those who stand out so we can include them in the competition.'
