A BARNTON boy has admitted punching a man three times after an altercation in the street.

The 14-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted the assault, which happened on February 29 at Lydyett Lane, at Vale Royal Youth Court on Wednesday.

He also admitted smashing a window at Hartford High School on June 2 and was given a six- month referral order.

Will Hurley, defending, said the offences were results of the boy’s bad temper. “He does want to do something about his anger problems,” he said.

The boy said: “I do need to be able to control my temper because it’s getting me into trouble.”

Magistrates also ordered him to pay £20 compensation to the victim as well as £60 court costs and £35 for the broken window.
