A TEENAGE playwright has seen her work brought to life on an Ellesmere Port stage.

Action Transport Theatre staged a new play by 17-year-old Ellesmere Port writer Maisie Linford.

Her True and Immortal Sister is one of four new plays as part of Four for the Port, showcasing the talent of young actors from the town in a Shell UK-sponsored project.

The play opened on Saturday at Whitby Hall Studio Theatre, Ellesmere Port, and there were three performances during the weekend.

For Maisie – a sixth form student at Ellesmere Port Catholic High School – it is her first play and she has ambitions to go to university next year to study film and screen-writing.

True and Immortal Sister is about love and hope among sisters who escape to Ellesmere Port from Afghanistan.

Her younger sister Steph plays the leading role and other sister Lucy plays a supporting role alongside Maisie.

This weekend sees performances as part of the Shell Chester Literature Festival at the Forum Studio, Chester, on Saturday at 2pm and 7.30pm.
