THE owner of a Winsford takeaway has paid the price for flytipping.
Mike Zapties, who owns Winsford Cross Fish Bar at Dingle Walk, pleaded guilty to the charge at Vale Royal Magistrates Court earlier this month.
He was prosecuted for contravening the Environmental Protection Act, and fined £1,215.
The rubbish was the result of a renovation of the shop and had been left at the rear of the premises, in Queen’s Parade.
Lead councillor for environmental management Lynn Riley said: “This council takes a hard-line approach to flytipping. Anyone caught will face prosecution.”
