FORMER Cameroon ace Patrick Suffo is set to be offered a short-term contract at Wrexham.

The 30-year old ex-Coventry City striker has been training with the Dragons for the past couple of weeks and manager Dean Saunders has opened talks with the player, who was a member of his country’s successful team at the 2000 Olympics and also played in the 2002 World Cup finals.

“I’m considering offering Patrick a short-term deal,” Saunders said yesterday. “I’ll be talking to him to see if we can come to an agreement.”

The Racecourse boss also revealed that he hopes to sign another new striker before the club’s next Blue Square Premier match at Weymouth next Saturday.

“The player I’m interested in is a different type of player to those we already have,” he added.
