WREXHAM swimming sensation Lowri Tynan has booked her ticket to the World Championships.
The 21-year-old from Coedpoeth will represent Great Britain at the Rome event later this month following her impressive display at the Scottish Championships.
Already in a strong position for selection following her performance at the world trials, Lowri confirmed her place on the plane to Italy by winning 50m women’s breaststroke gold and 100m breaststroke bronze in Glasgow.
The Wrexham Swimming Club member will join up with the 40-strong GB squad on Tuesday at their training camp in Sardinia.
The World Championships get under way on July 22. Former Ysgol Morgan Llwyd student Lowri will go for glory in the 50m and 100m breaststroke.
Lowri’s Wrexham clubmate Luke Nixon, meanwhile, has been awarded a special memento by the club to recognise his achievement in being called-up to the GB squad that will compete at the Summer Deaf Olympics in Taiwan later this year.
